all the days flavours
gathered
collected
remnants of conversations
peel off the subway
walls
train numbers twist
into time tabled
digits
fish plates clank
under thick heavy boots
workers
ooze
onto
the track
stress fractures
soothed
current isolated
brash bark
of ballast
the only sharp
sound I hear

part of http://onestoppoetry.com/ one shot wednesday

nice. i love that moment when work is done and it can all ooze out of you as you sink into the seat...

First off , the word ballast is gorgeous. Moreover this poem, continues the well know thinking cat tradition of urban poetry full of sensation. I feel it as a photographic sequence. Freeze frames and acoustic instances, flickering silhouettes...

Lovely one yet again.

"remnants of conversations
peel off the subway
walls" how , true even in it's fictional nature...
