I see the ribs promised into wings. In the black bird. Very clever and very vivid in your imagery in interpreting the painting.

Does have a surreal feel...loved the crow being promised wings from ribs...those do look like ribs..well done.
the cull of forward is such a great phrase - I have an image here of someone jammed up next to someone in not such a nice way, but maybe because I am an New Yorker and ride on the subways in rush hour. Much enjoyed. k.
An elephant in a room was something my dad would say when something was obvious, but I read this as a mysterious moment captured with your words and the painting. A mysterious crow. Or why did the crow not cross the road the elephant stood near. I loved ur wording, and line work. It is a pleasure to read.

I liked how you play with the idea of the proverbial elephant in the room, but it's your description of the crow I found most interesting and surreal. Something about that section kept drawing me back. Nicely done.
